I did my first project for the University in the late 1980s for Meany Theater. It was for their season ticket brochure, a project I would do for the next several years. During that time, I began to work with other departments, as well as Creative Services, their publication group. I did all kinds of projects over the next few years from annual reports to editorial gigs, to even stock images. I mostly photographed students and faculty and buildings and general shots of campus at different times of year. I always enjoyed the projects and the clients, as I was generally given great creative freedom, even if the budgets were not so great. I spent my final 10 years there working with the School of Social Work and was once told by the Dean that I had created the look of the school. Over time I taught photography both on campus and in Rome with a summer program. I even had an exhibit there once. I spent so much time at UW, I started getting invitations to join the alumni club, even though I was never a student there.
