You are about the RAM thing. I don’t know why I didn’t realize it sooner. I have always thought my machine was buggy, but all along it was just too much crap on the desktop. So, to put it to the test, I decided to go the external drive where I keep everything and open a random folder I knew was full of images. The Palouse, April 2017. That’s when I dived down the rabbit hole and began to look at old photos. The Palouse is in Eastern Washington and runs into Idaho and Oregon. It is a really beautiful, but isolated part of the state. I think this was my last trip there. I would visit there more often except for the 5 drive to get there. I went there for several years straight, always in the spring, to do assignments at Washington State University or Gonzaga University in Spokane. When I had completed my work, I would always meander the countryside to see what I might find, landscape wise. I always ended up at Steptoe Butte too. From there are the most amazing views in all directions. If the light and weather is right, it is like shooting fish a barrel to make a good image. You just need a long telephoto lens. The folder opened immediately as did the folder containing the RAW files. There were several finished files, but I wanted to see if there were any gems I missed. Hence the rabbit hole. They were all gems and I wanted to see what a few might look like when processed with my current Photoshop. So, I dinked around, trying this and that to see what I could create. I finally said enough. I mean, I could do this for days. And to what end?
